THE BOG

Marked by poverty and society, a young girl is abused psychologically and physically by the male-dominated culture of 1930, Texas. JENNY DOTRY retreats into a fantasy world to maintain her sanity but, in the end, her delusions bring tragic consequences.

Pimped by her sexually impotent husband, a voyeuristic World War I vet who lost one arm and any trust for mankind, JENNY finds hope in the surprising affections of a “john.” TROY SPENCE, a young farmer suffering from his own tragedy, returns in secret to woo the young girl and discovers JENNY’s secret playmate, “Baby Sister.” JENNY’s playmate is not flesh and blood. When TROY tries to save JENNY from her desperate straits, he is drawn into a mysterious web of violence and death.

Llewellyn Baxter’s 15-year old daughter, JANE, is the victim of her charming father’s spiraling madness, brought on by the harsh realities of 19th century prairie life in Manitoba, Canada. WILBERT, JANE’s suitor from the next farm, becomes entangled in LLEWELLYN’s mental demise. WILBERT’s mother, NELL is prey to LLEWELLYN, who believes she is a witch (a superstition LLEWELLYN brought from Wales). But a suspicious car accident and a rustled herd of rodeo horses puts PAM on the trail of a long-standing crime syndicate, implicating everyone she holds dear, including JANET and PAM’s own father.
